Join Les Délices and Debra Nagy '00/'02 as they bring alive the world of dance with Caractères de la danse at 8:00pm on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Tregoning & Co. Gallery in Cleveland. Mingle with Debra and the other musicians at a post-concert reception.
This January concert features a lively program dedicated to music for dancing - from its social roots in the ballroom to the idiosyncratic, highly expressive music written for the first prima ballerinas on the theater stage. Les Délices welcomes back gamba player Josh Lee as a guest artist, one of the brightest stars in the younger generation of gamba players in this country. Musically and personally, he's at once disarming, affable, intensely expressive, and fun. Debra will also be joined by harpsichordist Michael Sponseller (BM '97, AD '99), and violinist Julie Andrijeski (who teaches annually at Oberlin's summer Baroque Performance Institute).
