The demo at CMA will be on Friday, May 13, from 6-8pm. Aimee will demonstrate the Japanese style of paper-making, which has roots in Korea. The workshop "Textile into Book" will be held on Sat/Sun, May 14-15. The workshop description is as follows: "Soft cloth books aren't just for kids! In this class, you'll learn various techniques for incorporating textile and fiber arts with book arts to create unusual and tactile book objects. You will learn how to make paper yarn and use it to knit, cord, and twine it to create pages and covers. You'll also learn how to felt paper and have it handy to sew and quilt it into creations limited only by your imagination. Bring a sketchbook to keep track of ideas as well as scraps of fabric, yarn, rubber, plastic, and anything else you might want to include into your books. You will leave with at least one completed book and ways to make plenty more. This class is ideal for those who already have skills in knitting, crocheting, sewing or quilting, but is open to all levels."
