Organ Yank in Elyria

Organ Yank, an alumni/student ensemble, will be appearing at Moss' Prime Rib & Spaghetti House (Jazz House) in Elyria, on Saturday May 21st at 7:30pm. Opening act will be a group that is now attending Oberlin College.

Organ Yank is composed of Danny Kamins '09 - Woodwinds; Alex Cohen '10 - Guitar/Prepared Guitar; Andrew Lawrence '09 - Keys/Bass Duties; and Jasmine Mottley '13- Drums.

Organ Yank formed in 2007 at Oberlin College. What started off as a conservatory ensemble quickly turned into a campus sensation, playing to packed audiences at both concert halls and parties. Their songs bridge the gap between art and pop music, mixing unrestrained yet precise musical experimentation with melodies in the form of hard-hitting rock, catchy jazz, dirty blues, and highly danceable funk. Comparisons have been made with artists ranging from Parliament to Jimi Hendrix, from Miles Davis to Steely Dan. Drawing on their diverse influences, Organ Yank puts on highly acclaimed live shows that grip audiences with their energy and execution.
